We charge all personnel with the responsibility to demonstrate safety leadership through a strong, genuine, continuous, and personal commitment to safety. Every employee understands that they have the authority and obligation to stop unsafe work activity and provide feedback to other employees and their supervisor(s).

Employee safety is Horizontal Rentals, Inc. primary focus. Horizontal Rentals, Inc. commits fully to ensuring that its personnel/equipment work safely and effectively at every work site with minimal environmental disturbance. We demonstrate our commitment to safety through safe equipment design/maintenance and rigorous employee training. Our full-time safety department aggressively manages company safety objectives. HRI employs a safety instructor certified to teach the Basic Safety Awareness classes. Horizontal Rentals, Inc. is a member of ISNetworld and provides company safety and training information, Review and Verification Services (RAVS), Safety Questionnaire, and Management System Questionnaire (MSQ). Horizontal Rentals, Inc. complies with SafeLandUSA on safety/training standards.

Horizontal Rentals, Inc. uses Data Integrity Security Administration (DISA) as it Consortium/Third-Party Administrator to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), North American Substance Abuse Program (NASAP), North American Background Screening Consortium (NABSC), Corporate, and client drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Providing employees with a safe work environment and a strong mentor program
  • Maintaining our equipment in good operating condition and conducting routine inspections
  • Providing comprehensive safety and job-skill training
  • Maintaining an emphasis on hazard recognition and changing at-risk behavior

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate by example your commitment to the Behavior Based Safety Process (BBSP) and encourage employee participation
  • Immediately update the Health/Safety/Environmental Manual as revisions are sent out and train employees on revisions
  • Communicate a vision for safe operations that is both visible and consistent with our goals
  • Strictly enforce safety rules/practices and hold employees accountable
  • Recognize and provide positive feedback to employees that demonstrate safe work behaviors
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and investigations on incidents and near misses
  • Conduct a minimum of two safety meetings per month
  • Conduct a minimum of two supervisor field audits per week

Employee Responsibilities

  • Participate in the BBSPProcess and set a personal goal on one BBSPobservation per week
  • Know and follow all safety program procedure and select, use, and maintain PPE
  • Know and follow all vehicle operation requirements and speed limits
  • Conduct a Behavioral Job Safety Analysis pre-job risk assessment prior to every job
  • Pro-actively identify hazards and create work methods that control the level of risk
  • Look out for fellow employees and contractors as well as yourself
  • Maintain current training on required OSHAtraining topics and certifications including, but not limited to PEC,H2S, and First Aid/CPR
